Danielle Scott flying high with World Cup gold

Lampoon’s Danielle Scott has made an impressive comeback with her win at the World Cup in Deer Valley, USA on Saturday.

Freestyle aerial skier and dual winter Olympian, Danielle Scott, has returned to competition for the first time in 3 years post ACL injury.

Her ‘welcome home’ on the slopes has been nothing less than remarkable, with Danielle awarded a 90.59 points with her back double full-full (a triple twisting double back somersault).

“I am beside myself, this is crazy, it’s been a long time since competing and I love this sport and this is probably the best welcome back ever,” says Danielle.

Scott spent the hot Australian summer with the ‘Flying Kangaroos’ aerial ski team training at the new state of the art facilities in Queensland to prepare for her return to the slopes and the Winter Olympics in Beijing.

“Today was good, it was interesting with the conditions, but I started off training really well, put down a good qualifying jump, continued on with training and finals and put down everything I needed to.

“This is a good confidence boost for the world championships next month, this is obviously my first competition back so I needed that and I am really excited for what’s ahead.”

The Lampoon team certainly cannot wait for what’s to come.
